The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle
Lighting/Lookdev artist
The environment department required a Katana lookdev module to manage the material assignments and scattering of instance data like grass, bushes and trees. I designed, maintained and helped implement this module based on requests from lighting artists, bridging the two lighting and environment departments, thus facilitating solving problems.
I also had to incorporate new tree models and shaders built by another division of MPC, and these shaders needed to be adjusted to unify the final look of the trees already in the scene.

The lightning bolts are made from curves converted into geolights which are illuminating the CG version of the train interior, characters and volumetric fog. I adjusted sequence light rigs to fit the CG train interior extensions and set up the lightning effects with the necessary passes and AOVs for compositing.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Lookdev Artist
Look developed close up of the cliff at the bottom left of the shot using triplanar procedural texture setups. Added additional procedural details in order to match the foreground plate and digital matte painting.
During early stages of the construction of the shot, I contributed to the development and troubleshooting of all the cliffs displacement mapping, shading and plant colour variations.
Managed the rendering of shots, reviewed daily in rounds for environment quality control, ensuring that all layout and lookdev elements were included and free of issues.

Worked closely with the VFX and compositing supervisors on the lookdev of the aquariums seaweed, rocks and coral. I setup aspects of the Katana group module for some shaders in this shot, and optimized Katana’s render loader.

The Seahorse Trainer
Lighting Artist
Produced the complete lighting and compositing for seven shots. Setup and composited vfx elements such as reflections and shadowpasses. To obtain a more natural light on the sea horse and prevent light interferences from the HDRI, I cloned stamped the HDRI lights and extracted their texture in order to use them as inputs to the renderer for filtering the CG light sources.

All aspects of project
Think Tank Training Centre graduation demo reel. A Cinematographic visit of a palace inspired by photography of the Bahia Palace in Morocco. Created all aspects of the project from conception to final cut, including modeling, animation, texturing, lookdev, lighting, compositing and editing.
