Character TD
On Clone Wars, I designed a number of custom rigs, including the hybrid dynamic cloth rig on the clone trooper shown here.

This bit shows how the rig can be both dynamic (wind, gravity, etc.) and fully hand keyframed by an animator at the same time.

The big arrow is a visual aid I created for the animator to automate the direction and strength of physical forces in a very intuitive way.

I rigged the Rodian female (right), complete with dynamic ear and antennae rigs for quick and easy secondary animation.

The Spiderwick Chronicles
Character TD
I created the character blending system that allowed any two characters to transform from one to another, including skeleton, shapes and materials. (way fun)

Thimbletack and Boggart were the two most visible transformations throughout the film.
The father and Mulgarath (bad guy) was the other important transformation.

I created a number of custom rigs to create flowing secondary animation for a number of these flower sprites.

I created a dynamic hero rug that I also simulated and art directed for a few shots of the film.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Character TD
I came in late on this project so mostly worked on cloth and rigid simulations and creating simulation rigs on almost all of the shots requiring ropes and whips.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

For all of these Pirates shots, I was responsible for all cloth, tentacle and other simulation.

Eragon
Creature TD/Sim Monkey
A small team of us (three) developed the wing system for the dragon.
Additionally, I did a lot of shot work that used the custom wing and hair system.
All of my shots included the only dynamic saddle system for the show, too. Everyone else hand-animated theirs.

Eragon
Creature TD/Sim Monkey
The first shot worked on in the show was this one I did for the trailer. I was responsible for creating and simulating the guard's capes and making the digital doubles look more refined.
Tools:
Zeno
2:46-3:02
BioShock 2
Character TD
I was the only Character TD on this show. I designed and implemented all of the internal rigging and animation tools for characters, weapons and props.
I also created, along with Richard Jobling on the Unreal side of things, a shape-based facial animation system for the hero characters.
Tools:
3DS Max
3:05-3:15
I'm updating this reel to represent my more recent work, including that for Disney, Red 5 Studios and a bunch of VR content.
Thank you for watching.
