Marty has worked directly with dozens of the best motion picture directors, television directors and production designers including Bob Zemeckis, Ridley Scott and John Woo. He has also worked as motion picture illustrator and story board artist on numerous films, and designed and supervised Theme Park installations in the US (including work at Disney’s Epcot Center) and Japan.

A union illustrator from 1977 and a member of the Art Director’s Guild since 1992, Marty was a founding member of the Visual Effects Society and was on its original Board of Directors. Prior to merging the Illustrators Local 790 with the ADG, he was vice president of the Illustrators and Matte Artists union. He has lectured at the American Film Institute and at the Smithsonian. He holds undergraduate degrees from Otis Art Institute and Carnegie Institute of Technology and received a Masters degree in Materials Science from Columbia University.
