We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Technical Artist to join the studio. You will be developing and supporting art pipelines, contributing to both shader and scripting solutions in HLSL and C#, and work in close collaboration with our leads, artists and engineers. ZA/UM places great emphasis on exploring bespoke and meaningful artistic approaches to its projects, so applicants are expected to be comfortable exploring new ground routinely.


Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining art pipelines for characters, environments, FX, UI.
  • Designing, communicating and optimising processes, tools and methods for asset production across one or several projects.
  • Working closely with feature teams, leads and artists to identify and address technical development issues and implement improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining complex HLSL shaders in Unity.
  • Creating, altering and optimising shaders.
  • Creating scripts and add-ons for Blender.
  • Assisting in build profiling and optimising project assets with performance in mind.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years as a Technical Artist.
  • Experience with Unity and Houdini or Blender.
  • Experience with HLSL and C#.
  • Ability to co-develop shaders and support artists in non-realistic art style.
  • Writing clear and concise code and documentation.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.


Bonus if you:

  • Have experience with render pipelines.
  • Have experience with console development.
  • Have experience working in non-realistic art styles
