We’re looking for a Senior FX Artist to join our team in Porto, Portugal.


Saber Interactive is a U.S.-based developer and publisher of video games. Consisting of over 20 studios and more than 2,500 employees worldwide.


Creating and/or publishing games for all major platforms based on original and licensed IPs, Saber’s current and upcoming titles include Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Jurassic Park: Survival, World War Z, Evil Dead: The Game and SnowRunner. Founded in 2001, Saber is also known for two decades of development partnerships with AAA publishers, producing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Nintendo Switch, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Crysis Remastered, and many others.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design and create stunning, real-time visual effects from prototype to final polish.
  • Develop FX that enhance gameplay, cinematics, and overall immersion.
  • Work closely with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of FX.
  • Innovate and push the Unreal Engine FX toolset to achieve the best visual results.
  • Maintain performance and memory efficiency across multiple platforms.
  • Provide mentorship to junior artists and contribute to the team’s overall growth.


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience: 8+ years.
  • Strong portfolio/reel showcasing high-quality game or film FX work.
  • Shipped multiple titles in the game or movie industry.
  • Excellent understanding of timing, motion, and animation in FX.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Unreal Engine’s FX pipeline, including Blueprint and Python scripting.
  • Experience working within memory and performance constraints on different platforms.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a passion for sharing knowledge and improving workflows. 
  • A drive to experiment, learn new techniques, and refine tools and pipelines.
