Compositing Supervisor

As Compositing Supervisor, you are responsible for the show assigned to you. Your main mission is to ensure, with the VFX Supervisor, that the creative direction of the project is respected. Under the supervision of the HoD 2D, you supervise the shows from both artistic and technical pespectives, and work together with the producer to meet delivery deadlines while taking into account budgetary constraints.
Main Responsibilities
- establish methodologies and estimate the cost of new projects with the VFX Supervisor, the production team and consult with the HOD 2D as needed
- implement the production standards defined by the HOD 2D
- plan and maintain the rendering/compositing strategy with the CG Supervisor(s)
- collaborate with the Paint&Roto Lead to breakdown all the requirements for the show
- define the production tasks for each shot with the production team
- manage the artists throughout the project and ensure the quality of their work
- lead review sessions and ensure work meets client expectations
- when necessary, brief artists individually on each shot of the project
- ensure the follow-up and compliance of the production tasks with studio standards
- provide technical support to the compositing team on the project
- verify the technical compliance of all data passing between departments on the project (QC review/approval)
- understand and represent the vision of the VFX Supervisor and the client in their absence
- address the creative direction of the VFX Supervisor by providing technical and/or artistic solutions that align with the skills of the team and the project budget
- report technical, strategic & organizational problems or solutions to the HoD 2D
- participate in supporting artists in their skills development, as well as their professional monitoring throughout the project, in collaboration with the HoD 2D.
- participate in mid and post-mortems of the project.
Required Skills
- Previous experiences as compositing supervisor on international projects;
- At least 10 years of experience as a Compositing Artist / Lead Compositing / Compositing Supervisor;
- Strong sense of initiative and creativity;
- A comprehensive understanding of all technical and creative aspects of the VFX production and processes;
- Proficiency with compositing software environments;
- Familiarity with production tracking tools;
- Ability to communicate in French and English both verbally and in writing.
