Position Overview: Join us as a talented and enthusiastic 3D Character Artist (Real-time). Your role will be pivotal in bringing characters to life, elevating the immersive quality of our projects. Collaborating with concept artists, animators, and designers, you'll create lifelike characters that resonate with audiences in real-time experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with concept artists, animators, and designers to understand character requirements and project goals.
  • Produce high-quality, anatomically feasible, photo-real or stylized CG character models in line with brief and/or reference material.
  • Interpret abstract ideas or concept art into the creation of compelling photo-real or stylized characters.
  • Present work in a turntable-style environment with acceptable lighting for progress reviews and approval, including scale reference.
  • Ensure consistency of UV mapping and polygonal subdivisions.
  • Facilitate the creation of high-quality, photo-real texture maps.
  • Research reference materials for aesthetics and genre of game, film, or animation.
  • Sculpt detailed character models, ensuring anatomy, proportions, and unique features are accurate.
  • Efficiently generate optimized topology for characters, focusing on performance.
  • Texture characters using PBR materials, hand-painting, and photo-texturing techniques.
  • Rigging experience, ensuring lifelike character movements and deformations, is a plus.
  • Collaborate with technical artists to optimize characters for real-time engines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to enhance character-creation processes.
  • Deliver character assets within project timelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a 3D Character Artist, showcasing real-time character models.
  • Proficiency in 3D software such as Maya, 3DsMAX, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or equivalent.
  • Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for anatomy, form, and character design.
  • Ability to create characters in various visual styles and genres.
  • Experience with character rigging and skinning is a plus.
  • Familiarity with real-time engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Solid understanding of PBR workflows and texture mapping.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a team environment.
  • Passion for pushing creative and technical boundaries to craft immersive characters.
  • Effective time management skills and fluency in English communication.
