Work involved:
- Converting shots into multiple layered depth passes to be composited into the final image using depth maps (disparity maps)
- Cleanplating on backgrounds and still objects as well as moving talent (such as recreating parts of the body occluded by, for example, hair/head/arm/weapon
- Stereo Painting to fix artifacts and recreate motionblur
- Extracting hair to composite in Stereo
- Recreating hair using open splines and various texturing techniques within Nuke.
Apart from the proprietary conversion techniques used by Stereo-D we heavily relied on Nuke as compositing package supported by Mocha and Silhouette.
