I am an animation fan and have loved watching great performances from my younger life with many of the Disney films. I marveled at the characters and loved the great feelings it would give the audience. As I got older I was interested in several artistic pursuits. I first perused music by playing guitar in a local band and loved the performance aspect of that. In my later 20’s I heard about CalArts and remembered the great love I had for the Disney stuff and wanting to focus on family entertainment. So I worked to be accepted to one of the great animation programs in the US in 1997. I was married to my wife at this time and we came out to Valencia to start out life in California and my animation career. I spent a few years at CalArts and graduated with a BFA in character Animation and had a job out of school working at DreamWorks Animation on ‘The Prince of Egypt’. I was in the hand drawn EFX effect department. I worked there on all of their traditional films and learned a lot about a production environment. I later refined my abilities by adding a working knowledge of Maya to my skill set. I had learned some of Softimage while at CalArts and returned to that package in 2005 at Omation animating on Barnyard and working in the software daily. I have since 2006 been working doing 3D Maya animation at various studios. I have also learned about forensic animation working with attorneys to do recreations for their cases. I still enjoy making music and released 2 albums. One in 2011 called ‘To The End’ and one in 2022 for my virtual animated band called RepliKkants. I have the music up on itunes, Amazon, Spotify and such. It is a fun project and creative release. They are still available through www.replikkants.com. I still love making great animation and music as much as ever. I enjoy living in Santa Clarita with my wife and our 2 kids. I enjoy contributing with other talented artist to collaborate on producing great animated works.
