For over the last decade, I have developed a broad range of skills and expertise within the field of digital compositing for film and television.

As a compositing artist, I have contributed to a variety of projects, from blockbuster feature films and tv series, through to award-winning commercials and music videos. During this time I have grown and refined my skills creating and integrating digital imagery in both large and small studios, most recently Industrial Light & Magic, Wētā FX, Method Studios and Alt.vfx.

As a compositing technical director, I have assisted artists and studios by building customised tools and workflows. Starting from creating simple scripts and gizmos in production, to later more advanced troubleshooting and debugging as part the Nuke team at Foundry. I have used a combination of technical knowledge, coding and production experience to help solve a variety of challenging issues.

As a trainer, teacher and mentor, I have been fortunate to be able to share and pass on my knowledge to others. Initially starting by training junior artists in studios, through to teaching the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment in 2017.

After spending the last few years working on some amazing shows at Wētā FX and ILM, I have recently returned with a fire in my belly to tertiary education, and currently teaching the next generation of Screen and Media students at TAFE NSW. In tandem to this I am also continuing to mentor aspiring Nuke artists around the world through CG Spectrum online.

I enjoy being at the cutting edge of technology, using a mixture of creativity and technical problem solving skills to create amazing imagery, and sharing my knowledge to help others achieve their goals.

  • Screen and Media Teacher

    In my current role, I am utilizing my industry experience in compositing, visual effects and post production, in combination with my existing teaching and mentoring knowledge, to provide the next generation of students opportunities to learn, grow and excel in thier areas of interest.

    As part of this role, I am also updating my teaching qualifications to the current Certificate IV Teaching and Assessment (TAE40122). This certification allows me to continue to develop and teach nationally-accredited vocational content at RTOs around Australia.

    During my time at AIE, I had the opportunity to teach the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media course (2nd year) at the Sydney campus to a class of 30+ students.

    I specialised in teaching Nuke, but also taught the students Maya and Renderman in collaboration with other teaching staff.

    My role was to use my industry knowledge and experience in compositing and other areas of vfx, to provide the students with the latest skills and techniques. This would give them the best opportunity at employment in their areas of interest in the visual effects industry.

    I did this through creating customised lesson pathways, authoring relevant content, personalised tuition and challenging them independently.

    In tandem to teaching, I also completed my Certificate IV Teaching and Assessment (TAE40110) certification.
