    Roles and responsibilities
    ● Image finalling is a process where a composting artist will be doing fixes\polish on the creatively approved final rendered images.
    ● The common tool sets are Nuke and Photoshop.
    ● The artist would be performing tracking, stabilizing,roto shaping and cleverly isolating the masks to achieve the desired results.
    ● Having a good understanding of the math (color) to perform the color corrections to resolve the issue is paramount.
    ● All Image Finalers take feedback from supervisors and artistic leads to correct or enhance footage.
    ● Image Finalers may be asked to address stereoscopic discrepancies which cannot be fixed by other departments.
    ● Photoshop is used frequently by finalers to fix and enhance large resolution still images for commercial products and posters. The most common fixes could be in the range of: Removing shadow\ lighting artifacts Clearing\Filling Motion blur artifacts Creating character contact shadows Removing Matte lines Darkening\Brightening the inner mouth for the characters Fixing\ Removing the texture and shadow pops Controlling the value structure of the specular\reflection brightness. Using an area from the shot, to fix something else (offset) Denoise and Simple projections 3D Projections on a moving geometry.

Ability to light characters and environments, interior and exterior, different times of day, etc. Good technical knowledge of how 3D lighting works in order to understand the 'multi passes' that the Lighters create.
