Software Engineer
Siebel Systems
March 2001 - August 2004
San Mateo, California
Building up a bank of extensive experience in object-oriented design and implementation, and a taste for process-oriented development, I started out in the Customisable Product
Team (CPT) as a Software Engineer using C++ to develop a generic product configurator for a client, which integrated into an order management solution (A constraint-based system using ILOG libraries). In 2002, I moved into the Universal Application Network (UAN) Team where it was my role to review marketing requirements, design and create integration processes using Tibco, support quality engineering, optimize performances, design and create automated test processes that allowed Siebel to integrate itself easily with its competitors (mainly Oracle, SAP, and RosettaNet) using a hub-spoke model.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Listed as an inventor on two patents: 20070226707 and 20070208768 (https://patents.justia.com/inventor/roland-vallet)
Designed and developed a product configurator using ILOG constraint-based engine. C++
Siebel-wide Engineering Design Document Challenge winner. The contest's purpose was to encourage engineering to be more thorough during the design phase as well as to make documentation more readable. The award acknowledged that good design and documentation eventually lead to better software (the UAN configurable product, with which I won the challenge, had an exceptionally low number of bugs logged against it).
Designed and developed integration applications. Tibco, Webmethod.

Successfully designing and developing wireless applications for cell phone sim card using Java, as well as designing, developing, and supporting servers for wireless applications using C++, ensuring the delivery of efficient, helpful on-site support to Schlumberger clients.
