Responsibilities include creating and checking UV layouts of 3d assets and coordinating with the modeling team. Painting high quality texture passes (diffuse, specular, bump, displacement, specRough, etc) using Mari and Photoshop. Running test renders and turntables using Katana. Submitting these renders to the production team for feedback via dailies or rounds.
Producing high quality texture maps for props, characters, environment for an animated feature film.
Responsibilities include, checking and redoing UVs on assets as needed. Painting high quality Diffuse, Spec, Bump and Displacement using Mari and Photoshop. Setting up and assigning shaders to create the final look of the asset using Houdini, and rendering turntables for review.
Continued work on various assets for production, but also adopted the role as a lead texture painter. Responsibilities include mentoring junior level artists and new hires, participating in the interviewing processes and meetings and working more closely with production. Also led a team while on a specific show, giving feedback and addressing notes with a texture team abroad while working closely with upper management to insure that quality and expectations were being met.
