The idea was to convey some initial reluctance from Thimbletack in helping out Jared and even thought he really didn't want to do it, he forces himself to share some knowledge due to his affection with Lucinda and his body acting is a reflection of his unwillingness to help. Thimbletack goes through some real personal growth during the season and we wanted to keep him with a very spicy personality, mainly on the first few episodes where he is still getting to know Jared and learning if he can actually trust him.
