Adding digital boxtrolls, set extensions and rig removal played a large role in bringing the Boxtroll cavern to life.

The digital boxtrolls were all generated from a kit of various heads, boxes, arms and legs. Additional variation was provided through multiple skin colors and box labels which were selectable in the animation rig. These variation parameters were passed through to the shaders which pointed to the appropriate textures at render time.

Both practical and digital boxtrolls featured prominently in the foreground of many shots. This required our digital assets to hold up to close scrutiny when stood side by side with the practical hero characters.

I created all boxtroll rigs and designed and implemented the "parts" system that generated all the boxtroll variations from a kits of various components.
