Happy to share the shots I have animated when I worked on "Ready Player One"

I've started this using the mocap data from set. But then I ended up keyframing Parzival entierely as the action was changed later on. His hands had to do a completely different thing as the car is doing a sharp turn right. I also added a couple of more head accents as well.
I have also keyframed the camera and the delorean.
Artemis is heavily edited mocap as the volume of the car was different on set and her body was not sitting properly in the car once I brought it into Maya. Also her right hand was supposed to be placed on the dashboard first and at the end she is grabbing the steering wheel, so I had to tweak it a lot.
Facial animation for both characters is based on performance capture but I still had to push some of the phonemes and facial expressions.

I have animated the Delorean, Parzival, the big Mech Walker and the flying character in the background from Battleborn. All Keyframe. The rest of the characters are from Crowd.

What I have animated here is entirely keyframe animation.
This is what I've animated:
- Big foreground guy running and throwing the weapon
- Pig man on screen left
- Artemis
- Parzival
- Delorean

I've animated both Sho and Parzival. This started from mocap data but it was heavily edited because they are standing on top of the Iron Giant and the way the actors were standing/crouching on set was very different and so this needed a lot of re-work, especially Sho it was almost entirely keyframed in the end as he needed to open up the inventory a bit differently and throw the weapon in a more interesting way.
Parzival's facial is based on performance capture whereas Sho's facial is keyframed.

This was the most challenging shot I did on this film!
It started once again with mocap but we soon realized it wasn't really working as unfortunately the actor had just a ball to act with on set and so he was just doing some random movements before throwing Chucky out of the car.
Instead my supervisor wanted to show some clear beats of what Chucky and Parzival were doing, so once we established the beats I keyframed the entire shot.
Artemis is based on mocap, although I had to edit it quite a bit as she was supposed to punch Chucky at some point and I had to change the timing of when that happened to make it read as clearly as possible.
I've also animated the camera and the Delorean.
Facial animation on both Artemis and Parzival is edited Performance capture. Chucky is entirely keyframed.

This shot is entirely keyframed. I have animated the following:
Delorean, Parzival, Artemis, Chucky, IOI Sixers and a couple of big Mech Walkers in the background.
The rest was done by crowd.
