This was a big one a two character shot where Sid is meant to be acting like a used car salesman. I started with a reference pass filming myself as Sid getting lead and director approval before moving onto block on through to spline and polish. Mama bird was left until the end so I could have Sid doing his thing.

One of my first FX shots, another two character gem with Crash and Eddie. I animated both characters as if the glue was there but it was added later so pantomime on this shot was very important to have working. Their angles of approach needed to be just right to give the glue maximum affect. Fun shot I think it turned out well.

Again another 2 character FX shot where the effects were put in later. The trick here was manipulating their faces without tearing the geo. I had fun with the poses here working closely with the director to get this shot just right. I added some lattice deformers at the polishing stage for extra squash and stretch.

The next two shots are pretty straight forward pieces. Sid was fun to work with trying to keep him on model was a fun challenge. He's a legacy character so they knew exactly what they wanted. The lip sync was tough to accomplish but in the end these two shots worked well in the context of the scene.

This shot was a dream come true! When I found out I was going to be animating Scrat I was beside myself :)
Another FX shot where the chocolate was added later. I animated Scrat and the acorns as well as the BG character at the end.

Dreamworks TV
This is dreamworks TV so for this shot I animated the rocks and both thug characters. Quota on the subsequent shots ranged from 15-25 seconds a week.
1:05-1:10
Dreamworks TV
Working with a dragon whose stomach geo intersects the ground by default posed some challenges like how to get those rocks into his mouth...I used his tongue!
1:26-1:30
Dreamworks TV
A fun three character action shot. I tried to created nice shapes so the fast action would register. This got approved fairly quickly and I think works well in sequence.
1:34-1:39
Dreamworks TV
I animated all the characters including the dragons in this sequence. This shot was fun because they were bigger than the entrance into the boat so finding a fun way to cheat that was a nice challenge.
1:43-1:49
Dreamworks TV
3 characters interaction blending walk cycles into original animation. The character walking down the stairs and acting is all me no cycles at all.
1:55-1:59
I almost felt bad pushing this poor guy out of the way but when it started to come together I decided to push it even further to make it a nice shove. The joys of being an animator. All 4 characters were animated by me.
