Freelanced as a character artist for a variety of Disney-themed merchandise sold throughout many Disney attractions. Artwork included turn-around poses of various Disney characters used as reference for sculpted figurines; concept art for T-shirts, clock faces and limited edition merchandise. These various pieces of commissioned work were presented to the art director as rough sketches and/or tight pencil drawings and color concepts for design approval.
Character Animator
Walt Disney Feature Animation
January 1988 - December 1993
Working as a character key on The Little Mermaid, and under the direct supervision of Andreas Deja, I supervised a crew of assistant animators and inbetweeners to maintain a consistency of the on-model look and line quality of Triton. I later completed training in the Disney Animator Development Program which entailed an intensive fourteen-month study of all fundamentals of animation, including life-drawing, acting, timing, film analysis, storyboarding and animation. During this time I worked under the mentorship of many accomplished senior animators at Disney before completing the program and being promoted to senior animator. My film credits at Disney include the following:
• The Little Mermaid (Character Key, Triton)
• Roller Coaster Rabbit (Assistant Animator)
• The Rescuers Down Under (Character Key)
• Beauty and the Beast (Assistant Animator)
• Aladdin (Animator, Jafar)
• Trail Mix-Up (Animator)
• The Lion King (Animator, Hyenas)
