Responsible for lighting and compositing final shots for animated features. I have also done quite a lot of sequence and location based light rig setup for my teams. I have been very involved with helping the company usher in their next generation lighting software locally, and am now involved in early testing of our future pipeline in China.
Head of 3D
Gradient Effects
March 2008 - December 2008
I was responsible for assembling and maintaining the team of modelers, surfacers, animators, fx artists, and matte painters for the studio. Managed hiring and contract negotiations, helped keep shows on schedule. I filled in on several of these areas when needed. Also during this time I traveled to Germany and Poland to gather reference photography and lidar data of steel mills and turn of the century buildings for one of our German shows.

Gradient Effects
2008 - December 2008
Managed a team of 8-13 matchmovers for "The Box", which had many very difficult facial tracking shots. I kept the team on or ahead of schedule for the entire show and things ran so smoothly that I was later asked to run the entire 3D department, one of the proudest moments in my career.

I managed the matchmove department which varied in size from 2 to 7 people. Was responsible for setting up guidelines and best practices, authoring scripts to aid in our process, and quality control as well as matchmoving shots. Went on set and on location to gather camera data and make sure the tracking needs were met while filming was going on. Mentoring new artists was also a big part of my role.
