In my 30+ years of industry experience I have transitioned from building miniatures to be shot on stage with film, to digital image manipulation using four different compositing packages. The analog and digital worlds together have trained my eye in the arts of scale, color, composition, visual rhythm and image cohesion. For 20 years at ILM San Francisco I wrangled complex shots for features and as comp sequence supervisor there I developed looks for sequences, identified visual & technical issues, gave feedback to artists, color correct plates and worked with the comp supe and VFX supe on sequence continuity.
For the last 3 1/2 years I have been working on the advertising side of VFX, comping high end effects heavy spots. I am familiar with the different pace and workflow in advertising including the delivery of variations for socials and holding of the timeline by a flame artist.
