Numb is an apocalyptic movie that tells the story of a character who is a war veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder who perceives that the end of the world is coming. It establishes a relationship with a dubious Messiah who foresees a storm that will kill humanity.
In this film we work with trench war scenes. I worked on hero shots to develop the set extensions and the look of the elements involved. This included the creation of mattepaintings filled with fire, explosions, flares and tracer bullets.
I also worked on the progression of the storm by performing multiple sky replacements, from adding simple clouds up to generate demonic skies heavily loaded with storms and lightning. In the same way it was necessary to reinforce different scenes of the film with elements of storm, like gust of wind dragging heavy elements, particles, smokes, sparks, etc.
In the process we perform many set extensions, cleanings, screen replacements, green screen extractions, muzzle flashes additions, blood staining the whole scene, bullet impacts, and many other stuff.
In addition to leading a group of artists during some periods of the project where deadline was tight, I also had the opportunity to develop many Python tools to incorporate to the pipeline and automate many tasks that benefited significantly avoiding human errors and saving budget.

Hot spot in my career. Hands of Stone was the first big project i participated on.
I started as a Jr. Compositor, taking part of a team with the goal of making a huge crowd database to populate empty stadiums.
So I extracted green screens as never ever in my life, developing the workflow to clasify the actors taking consideration of their gender, cloth, skin color and acting, to integrate the footage directory with the crowd population tools developed in-house for this specific project. That was my first contact with python too. And i'm sure that it planted a seed on me because I started to understand the importance of improving my coding skills to get faster results where tasks can be automatized
Then I went to work directly composition of simple shots, cleaning, removal of wires, rigs, tracking marks, modern cars or buildings, etc.
The biggest challenges came at the end of the project when I had to replace an entire Dunkin Donuts shop for an ice cream shop Baskin Robbins. I also had the opportunity to compose some shots with 2D and 3D crowds too.
I feel that this project made me grow surprisingly fast because I was able to perform many tasks time holding them with great intensity. I was part of a very experienced team that brought to my so much growth both technical and artistical.
The results of the work are of the highest quality in the industry, and that made me realize what kind of work I want to make, and what kind of teams I want to integrate with the aim of constantly improve myself as a professional VFX artist.

Roto & Paint Artist
ONER Vfx
November 2013 - November 2013
I had the chance to give my first steps in the VFX Industry guided by Rodrigo Tomasso, owner of this great VFX boutique.
I Made many roto, paint & compo shots for this advertisment.
But actually it was my first chance to experiment real deadlines, a proffesional environment, and to realize that I wanted to become a VFX artist.
So I tried the skills I was building in "the real world", and picked a good material for making my first demo reel that allowed me to go forward.
