As the Head of Digital Prep at Method Studios Montreal, I manage all aspects of Digital Paint and Roto (DPR), and MM departments. When I first began my career with Method Montreal, I built the DPR team, developed a robust roto pipeline, and created the outsourcing aspect of the department and company. I am hands-on and knowledgeable in all areas of my departments. I oversee all scheduled work, support resource initiatives, and ensure we establish and maintain best practices and standards across all internal/external work. Responsible for implementing and executing continuous department improvements, I partner with artists, team leads, other departments, and show productions. Improvements include, but are not limited to addressing issues, create and present strategies, and negotiate and implement solutions.

While at BaseFX, I supervised and managed a team of over 80 artists across three studios in Mainland China. We worked on over 18 projects with ILM and on local film projects. During my time there I developed DPR’s internal pipeline, improved communication and standards across multiple areas within the company, and maintained a strong relationship with ILM’s Paint Department. Before BaseFX, I was with ILM and Weta as a senior digital paint artist where I worked on a variety of projects that helped define my love for Digital Roto and Paint, and build my understanding and knowledge of compositing.

Over my career, I have worked at a variety of companies, pipelines and worked on shots and projects. Most importantly I have supervised teams both locally and remotely. As a result, I have developed the expertise to supervise and lead large teams and direct and perform complex paint and roto tasks on a variety of types of projects. I developed my skill set while working at companies like BaseFX, ILM, Weta Digital, NewBreed, Blue Sky Studios, Framestore CFC, and Digital Domain.
