Led technical direction on a series of interactive storybooks on mobile devices for the 8 to 12-year-old market developed in Unity.
Key Achievements:
Worked with company stakeholders and producers to ensure the creative vision and desired quality of the project could be met within the limitations of mobile devices.
Collaborated on a "story engine" in Unity utilizing Timeline functionality to speed up the development of storybook creation.
Developed tools and systems to automate animation exports of multiple characters in Maya to FBX for use in Unity. Also 2D animation exports from Toon Boom Harmony.
Designed a tool to edit character lighting on the fly, allowing creative directors to tweak lighting live "on device" and send those tweaks back to the developers to easily import in seconds. As a result "final" lighting revisions could be made and iterated on quickly without having to wait for a build to validate every time there was a change.
Developed low-cost skin and character shaders for use on mobile devices.
Assisted other projects as needed with their technical concerns.
