From a young age, Francesco sought creative outlets through hobbies such as gaming, digital photography, home entertainment, and building custom workstations for himself and peers. He recognized the computer as a powerful tool that seamlessly merged these interests, enabling him to tell stories visually.
His burgeoning passion for digital media ultimately led him to enroll at The Academy of Image Arts (Accademia Dell'Immagine) in L'Aquila, Italy. There, he studied under a cadre of talented industry professionals, including Academy Award recipients, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Audiovisuals & Mass Communication Media. He later moved to New York to refine his skills in 3D and Visual Effects at The New York Film Academy.
Now residing in sunny Los Angeles, Francesco has spent over a decade in the entertainment industry, where he has been privileged to embrace numerous remarkable professional opportunities.
As a Compositing Supervisor and Senior Compositor, he has lent his expertise to a diverse array of projects, including feature films, episodic series, music videos, and integrated advertising campaigns. Known for his proficiency in integrating computer-generated imagery and compositing green/blue screens, Francesco consistently strives for photorealism and seamless integration, infusing every pixel with emotional resonance.
Throughout his career, Francesco has tackled a wide spectrum of VFX challenges, from intricate speed ramps and meticulous paint-outs to reconstructing shots through camera projections and blending multiple takes. His repertoire also includes aging and de-aging actors, managing expansive sequences that push the limits of time and resources, and engaging in look development alongside directors to visualize pivotal story elements. With a robust understanding of digital compositing workflows, visual effects pipelines, color management frameworks, and camera optics, he approaches each project with both technical acumen and creative insight.
Francesco is a proud dual citizen of Italy and the United States and an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the Visual Effects Society (VES), and the Associazione Effetti Visivi of Italy (AVFX).
