Implementation and management of the company compositing department for entertainment (feature films, TV series). Shotgun was also deployed and integrated with Nuke to manage and automate part of the post-production processes. I've also acted as a consultant and on-set VFX Supervisor on a few shows.

Worked with the artist Héctor Zamorra to help him bring some of his visions to life for the Venice Biennial 2009. On the following year most of my time was spent working as a freelancer UX designer for The Foundry products like Nuke, Mari, Storm and later on Hiero. I also did some UX concepts for the vfxDesktop application. Nukepedia.com was also born during this period.

I was called to work as compositor and to help them implement Nuke there. Unfortunately Nuke didn't happen at that time for a myriad of reasons, but I end up doing the compositing for commercials of clients like Terra Networks, Santander, Claro, Pepsi, GM among others.
Lead Compositor / Coordinator
Twister Studio / Labocine
September 2003 - August 2005
Rio de Janeiro Area, Brazil
At the time Twister Studio was merging with Labocine (film lab) to become it's digital division. I've moved to Rio mainly to help them with the feature film compositing department, but soon I was given the opportunity to help them implement their DI department and bridge the gaps between the film lab and the digital services division.
Did the compositing on tens of feature films, short films, a few music videos and some opening sequences for TV shows. Most of them with direct contact with the Directors and DPs. Also took my first stab at integrating Nuke with something else, at that time Assimilator which later on became known as Scratch.

Master of none? Perhaps. But this was a period dedicated to synthesize all that knew and dig deeper into film and visual effects. Did a bit of everything, from editing to 3D and finally decided to stick with compositing since it involved bits and pieces of everything that I knew and love. During this period I've also worked as an assistant for a professional photographer to get a glimpse of the craft and enhance my compositing skills.

Among the first companies in São Paulo to provide web and multimedia solutions, our focus was on new technologies. Technologies like interactive 3D (VRML, Pulse, Metastream), virtual tours, multimedia kiosks and CD-Roms, Flash, Shockwave, DHMTL and video were all fresh.
Unfortunately we were kids on a bubble with ideas that were a bit ahead of the bandwidth. So after providing services for some high profile clients like Bradesco, Grupo Serveng, among others we decided to cease operations.

Was involved and helped do the acoustics calculation and installation for a good part of the night clubs in São Paulo from this period. Places like Dado Bier (São Paulo, Porto Alegre), Kashmire (São Paulo, Itinerante), Floresta, Cabral (São Paulo, Campos do Jordão), Gitana among others. Was also involved on hundreds of fashion shows and live events, including the first and second editions of the SPFW (at that time called Morumbi Fashion Week), Elite Model Look 1995, Christian Lacroix, Forum, Triton, MTV Music Awards Brasil (now known as VMB) among many other events where I had the chance to work with some of the most prominent DJs like Mau Mau, Marky Mark, Felipe Venancio, etc.
But discussing cable connections with Adam Horovitz from Beastie Boys and keeping quiet alongside Afrika Bambaataa at 4:00am made all the long hours and sleep deprivation worth.
