I am a highly skilled 3D artist with 4 years (as of 2014) experience as a 3D modeler in the big budget film industry. I also have a great deal of experience in Concept design in art departments on Marvel and Warner Brothers films.

  • Modeller - Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy

    After returning from the Art Department I am now a modeler on Concept Guardians Of The Galaxy. I work with two other Artists on one of our largest ever CG Environments to produce render level hero assets.

    This film has presented some very interesting challenges. As usual the deadlines are tight, but that is coupled with having so few artists creating assets for one of the largest CG interior environments I have ever seen.     Following my successful tour in the Art Department on Gravity I returned for 2 months to work as a concept modeler for Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy.

    My role this time around was to produce, at speed, concept models that would later define styles for one of our exceptionally large interior environments. This included everything from layout design of whole 'areas', to the look and style of individual buildings. Once my designs were signed off they were used by both Layout TD's as a layout style guide, and by the modelling department to begin producing

    Working as a modeller at Framestore my role was to create hyer real assets and props for use in Alfonso Caurons Gravity. My primary software in this role is Maya but I also use Mudbox and I dabble a small amount in Nuke.

    Having returned from my 6 month tour at Warner brothers I join the team taking my 700+ low poly models, and we are creating high-poly photo real versions and placing them in the hight poly sets. The film I am currently working on is being shot mostly against green screen and we are under a lot of pressure to make 90% of the film in phot

    During this role I was contracted out by Framestore to Warner Brothers to work closely with the art department, primarily the set dressing team working on one of our clients films during the pre production phase.

    This role originally was supposed to be simply creating 2d card projections of a few props but quickly grew to creating a lot of low resolution 3D models to help the director visualise each objects impact on its environment.
