I am a modeler who has been working with Maya software since the beta version and Power Animator before that, both while at Disney Imagineering. I am proficient in both polygon and N.U.R.B.S. modeling. I've also used other modeling and remeshing software in production.
I have a background in traditional sculpting, painting, model making, fabrication and foundry metal casting for the feature film industry. I've got a prototype machinist's certification as well as a background in architecture and fine arts, studying in Italy. I consider these experiences to be my assets when modeling digitally. They allow me to analyze an object no matter how complex and break it down into its component parts and quickly identify how to create the most efficient type of CG models for the task at hand.
My generalist knowledge of Maya overall helps me to understand how a model can or will be used as an asset in a production pipeline. I am also very good when it comes to making UV maps for texture artists. I can model hard surface or organic characters, while also understanding the process of scanned data and remesh modeling requirements.
Overall, I have been in the entertainment industry for more than 27 years with various roles including Model Shop Supervisor, Lead Set Sculptor, Lead Prop maker, Production Designer, Digital Modeling Lead, Maya Instructor and Production Supervisor. I am currently interested in a modeling job and believe that my background will be a great asset to any studio.
