Originally hailing from Minnesota, Chris Ayers has been working in the Los Angeles entertainment industry since 2000. As a character designer and concept artist, he has participated on projects such as Men in Black II, Fantastic Four, Star Trek, Alien vs. Predator, and The Penguins of Madagascar feature film. Additionally he is the author and illustrator of a series of books titled The Daily Zoo.

I was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia on April Fool's Day in 2005. After undergoing multiple rounds of treatment and fortunately achieving remission, I started a project called The Daily Zoo where I set out to draw one animal every day for a year as a continuation of my healing process. It was extremely rewarding, so much so that I have continued the project, still drawing an animal each day. As of 2013, I am in Year Eight.

Created character designs and concept art in a variety of styles (from live action to cartoon animation) for a great number of clients, both large and small, such as DreamWorks Animation, Disney TV, Sony Feature Animation, Rhythm & Hues, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc., Spectral Motion, and Rick Baker's Cinovation Studios.
