The Lost Lederhosen

I am a thoughtful and experienced colorist who thrives at the crossroads of art, science and technology. Having studied art and film and spent years behind the lens as a photographer, I bring an artistic sensibility, resourceful attitude and technical rigour to all of my projects – I aspire to make the process enjoyable while delivering on vision.

I have worked in the film industry for over 12 years – getting my start as a stills photographer, then film technician, editor and compositor before seizing the opportunity to become a colorist in 2006. Since then, I have set my sights on a rapidly growing collection of feature, series and commercial projects, including Hollywood heavy hitters like Elysium and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, animated features like Kahlil Gibran’s ‘The Prophet’ and award-winning documentaries like Facing Ali and The Whale.

I have a genuine interest in my projects and have a team-driven attitude. I know how to read a room and focus energy to develop and refine the feel of a film – helping directors, cinematographers and producers to (re)find their voice during an often-chaotic and deadline driven post production process.
My recent work includes end-to-end collaboration with writer/director, Neill Blomkamp (District 9) to create the look and polish the final color for his last two features (Elysium, Chappie), and working with director, Roger Allers (Lion King) to enhance the color story for his animated feature, Kahlil Gibran’s ‘The Prophet’.

I’ve been fortunate to share my enthusiasm for color and creative process at a cross-section of speaking engagements (NAB, Creative Mornings, Pecha Kucha), international publications (American Cinematographer, Post, Definition, Studio Daily) & industry events in Hollywood and beyond.
