Oliver James is Chief Scientist at DNEG. For the last 27 years he has been involved in creating technology to realize some of the most demanding visual effects in film, from pioneering work on blue-screen compositing systems to physically-based animation, photogrammetry, stereo reconstruction, virtual production, facial motion capture, relativistic ray-tracing of black holes, and applications of deep learning to problems in VFX.
