Jon Schorsch graduated from Washington State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Jon Schorsch became a Police Officer with the Port of Seattle Police Department in 1993. Following the completion of First-Line Supervisor Training, Jon Schorsch received a promotion to Sergeant and First-Level Supervisor in 2003. Since losing his sight in a boating accident in 2006, Jon Schorsch has found ways to remain active in the Department, including involvement with the Port of Seattle Police Benevolent Association.

    Jon Schorsch served four years as a police sergeant. His duty included managing administrative documentation and supervising up to 20 individuals. He was responsible for the coordination and facilitation of training and wrote annual budgets. Jon Schorsch evaluated and effected equipment purchase request orders as Sergeant/Team Leader of Marine Operations Team (Dive and Boat).
    He was an encouraging leader who evaluated, counseled and helped to guide subordinates towards career goals.
