Perception--a cutting edge Design and User Experience agency--- is expanding our staff production team and is looking for a VFX Producer with experience in features and episodic TV formats. The perfect candidate needs to be a dependable team player with a great attitude and able to work under pressure. 

 

A VFX Producer is someone who understands and anticipates client patterns with regard to communication and potentially difficult situations over the course of a project. The VFX Producer is also expected to guide clients and employees when necessary; this is particularly relevant with the communication of pertinent information. The VFX Producer is responsible for managing the clients, budgets and internal team, taking a hands-on role in the day-to-day management of specific projects. They will also support the business management teams with bidding and negotiating for new projects and furthering new business developments

 

 This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, on site (Hybrid) at our brand new studio in Secaucus, NJ. 

 


Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of assigned film projects, including the initial VFX breakdowns and bids, as well as tracking bids and change orders thereafter, ensuring that the project is completed to the highest standard achievable, on-time & within budget
  • Artist and production team planning and resourcing, working with the Director of Production, Managing Director and Chief Creative Director.
  • Understanding when a team member is not performing at a high level and making necessary decision to substitute or remove specific team members.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of the visual effects process
  • Point of contact for client, including discussing project parameters, budgeting, scheduling, approvals and new project procurement.
  • Manage client expectations at all times.
  • Handle difficult conversations with clients if a project is going poorly and is able to redirect the project to a positive outcome.
  • Notify corporate accounting in advance of billing milestone dates for timely invoicing.
  • Track all costs and overages, making sure to stay within the budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain and update schedule with information garnered from client communication.
  • Handle artist performance, productivity, attendance and timekeeping with the production teams.
  • Plan and schedule facility resources.
  • Attend all mandatory producer-related meetings.
  • Partner with the VFX Supervisors and Creative Supervisors to lead the artists and support resources on each project.
  • Monitor all Quality Control during the post-production process to ensure that the project is delivered on time and of the highest quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and artists.
  • Pitch and bid for new business as requested
  • Maintain positive, can-do attitude under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain high security standards on self and team on projects.

 

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a VFX Producer producing complex CG & VFX projects, across a broad range of content including advertising, immersive, features and episodic. Thorough understanding of live-action and CG based VFX workflows
  • Highly organized with first-class time/project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent client and crew management skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize conflicting tasks
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
