At Able&Baker we’re looking for a Senior CFX Artist to join the team on our upcoming 3D animated films currently in production.

As a Senior CFX Artist, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality hair and cloth simulations, ensuring stable, efficient, and visually appealing results while contributing to the development of a practical and streamlined CFX workflow.

Responsibilities

Create stylized hair and cloth simulations using Houdini native tools.
Handle cloth simulation work for secondary and simple garments.
Troubleshoot, refine, and maintain simulation stability on a shot-by-shot basis.
Collaborate closely with Animation to identify and solve issues early in production.
Develop efficient approaches that reduce simulation complexity and promote reusable setups.
Contribute to the development of a fast and practical CFX pipeline adapted to small-team production needs.
Focus exclusively on hair and cloth simulations.

Requirements

Senior-level experience in CFX for animation or related production environments.
Strong proficiency in Houdini, including grooming and simulation workflows.
Solid understanding of hair grooming, hair simulation, and cloth dynamics.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to deliver shots independently in production contexts.
Professional working proficiency in Spanish and/or English.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a practical and efficient approach to production challenges.
Experience working in stylized or non-photorealistic animation pipelines is a plus.
