Job Description

Under the supervision of the Character Supervisor and Rigging Lead/Supervisor, the Rigging artist provides a rig for production Assets. The production of these rigs is done in accordance with the internal technical workflow and the artistic vision established on the project.


Responsibilities

  • Works with the Rigging Lead/Supervisor to establish a robust animation rig that reflects the tone and style of the film
  • Creates high-quality full rigs (body and facial) that meet the film's technical and stylistic requirements
  • Works closely with the animation team to ensure that production needs are understood and that animators have fast, efficient and intuitive assets
  • Proposes and applies modifications to rig modules used in the pipeline under the supervision of a Lead/Supervisor
  • Contributes technical and visual ideas and solutions for the film
  • Actively contributes to creating a quality film while managing production issues


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Rigging Artist in a film production environment, animated TV series or visual effects
  • Good understanding of the work processes of animation and modeling
  • Good understanding of human and animal forms, as well as biomechanics and anatomy
  • Excellent knowledge of Autodesk Maya
  • Interest in and knowledge of new rigging technologies and techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team

Additional Information

The person in this role will work closely with our Paris studio in a bilingual environment, as well as with international partners, talent, and clients. They will regularly interact with non-French-speaking stakeholders across various productions and strategic communications, in order to present and promote the creative and technical strengths of Mikros Animation on a global scale.
