Groom Artist
WildBrain Studios is looking for a Senior Grooms Artist to join our team for a short-term contract, starting early January 2026!
Reporting to the Producer and working collaboratively with Assets Artists, you will create high-caliber Grooms for one of our exciting CG Productions.

What You’ll Do:
- Create and deliver Grooms for characters, creatures, and digital assets and ensure that all production deadlines are met while producing work at a quality level in keeping with production requirements
- Collaborate with the CG Supervisor and creative leadership to design and achieve the creative and technical objectives of a production
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of Grooms elements
- Revise shots based on client and creative feedback in a timely manner
- Be proactive in identifying and communicating any issues that could potentially affect timelines, quality, or delivery schedules.
- Adhere to the studio’s established pipeline processes and carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
- Document Grooms and workflows to ensure consistency and support team knowledge.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2+ years of experience in animation, games, or film industry, experience on a feature animated film or similar project is preferred
- Production experience using Houdini for Grooms is required
- Demonstrate understanding of grooms behavior, form, silhouette
- Experience on a feature animated film or similar project is preferred
- Ability to use and build scalable groom-rigs and create Groom libraries
- Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
Nice To Have:
- Experience with Flow Production Tracking
- Experience developing with Python, or other object-oriented programming language
- Experience with XGen or Yeti, or equivalent Groom software packages
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
Pay Range:
$1280 - $2000 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
