Fix Animator (3 months)
As part of the production of a stylized feature film, we are looking for a Fix Animation Artist to join the animation team onsite in Montpellier.
This role focuses on polishing and correcting animated shots after main animation, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency before final delivery. The Fix Animation Artist will handle a variety of issues such as foot sliding, animation pops, floating eyes, penetrations, contact corrections, secondary animation adjustments, and fur-related bugs.
The ideal candidate combines solid animation knowledge with a strong technical mindset, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Key Responsabilities
Animation Fixes & Shot Polish
- Correct foot sliding, pops, drifting eye direction, and other animation continuity issues
- Improve contact points between characters, props, and environment
- Fix intersections and penetrations on characters, costumes, props, or set elements
Technical & Visual Troubleshooting
- Fix fur-related issues and other shot-specific simulation/artifact problems when possible
- Use sculpting tools and technical approaches to improve final visual result
Collaboration
- Work closely with animators, leads, supervisors, and technical teams
- Integrate feedback quickly and iterate efficiently
- Maintain consistency with the project’s style and production requirements
Must have
- Solid knowledge of Autodesk Maya
- Comfortable with technical troubleshooting inside shots
- Basic sculpting skills for corrective adjustments
- Reactive, efficient, and solution-driven
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit
- Fluency in English and/or French — this is a bilingual studio
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of AnimBot
- Experience on feature film or stylized animation projects
- Familiarity with fur workflows or simulation fixes
