Experienced 3D Artist
We are looking for a 3D Artist with proficiency in Environment Art to join our team! As part of the Art team, you will create high-quality models, materials, and textures, ensuring they align with the game’s artistic vision. You will collaborate closely with the design and tech departments, blending creativity and technical expertise to shape the world of Satisfactory.
Our 3D artists take on a variety of tasks without strict specialization, but we encourage them to lean into their strengths and develop deeper expertise in areas they excel at. While working on Satisfactory, you’ll help define its visual identity with environments, machinery, creatures, and more. We value initiative, adaptability and creative problem-solving, empowering our artists to push visual boundaries and craft an engaging and visually stunning experience.
These are things you’ll do on the job
- Model, sculpt and texture meshes, both organic and hard surface according to concepts, references and art direction.
- Work closely with Art Director, Lead Artist and Tech Art to maintain artistic consistency and vision for the game
- Use Unreal Engine to preview and setup your work to make it ready for implementation.
- Provide experienced guidance and feedback to your team members
- Collaborate with fellow artists and other departments such as tech and design
- Maintain and improve production and optimization pipelines
- Continue to refine artistic skills and stay up to date with the industry news and standards
Should-haves
- 3+ years of relevant experience in the gaming industry
- A strong portfolio featuring best examples of your 3D work
- High level of proficiency in Blender (or any other modelling software), ZBrush and Substance Painter.
- Great understanding of modern pipelines and requirements for game development.
- A good understanding of in-engine art asset optimization.
- A keen eye for shape, colour, composition and details.
- Ability to interpret and expand on concept art, filling in details and making creative decisions while staying true to the intended vision.
- A creative, proactive and motivated mindset.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Good verbal and written English.
Nice-to-haves
- Have experience creating real-time vegetation assets.
- Experience working with Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience with procedural content creation packages is a plus (like Substance Designer, Blender Geometry Nodes, etc).
- Traditional art skills like drawing, painting or sculpting.
- Have a keen interest in game development beyond just art
