Environment Artist

The Environment Artist is part of the build team and work with the Environment Supervisor. They are responsible for creating high-quality, photorealistic or stylized 3D environments to support the visual storytelling of a project

The script

• Create a wide range of photo-realistic environments for high-end live action projects (both feature-length and high-end TV series).
• Create and develop 2D, 2.5D & 3D assets, environments, and elements.
• Create 3D environments and assets from modeling to texture/look dev using Houdini Solaris.
• Work with the department Supervisor and Asset Supervisor to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots.
• Balance the creative and technical aspects of assigned shots.
• Meet schedules and show deadlines.
• Communicate clearly with Production and Supervisors regarding schedules and deadlines.
• Take responsibility for workload, time management, and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors.
• Learn and adapt to new methods and techniques.

Your credits

• Strong knowledge of professional 3D softwares such as Maya, Houdini, Mari.
• Strong working knowledge of Houdini and Solaris.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop and 2.5D projection using Nuke.
• Generalist background with a good balance between creative and technical skills.
• Knowledge of a nodal render tool like Katana.
• Extensive experience working on high-end projects within a film post-production environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and take direction from Producers and Supervisors.
