As a Compositing Artist at Peekaboo, you’ll create composited shots that bring our animated series to life, working closely with the Compositing Supervisor and the broader production team. We value proactive, solution-oriented artists who collaborate effectively and take pride in their craft.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Composite shots according to your supervisor’s direction and departmental standards, maintaining consistent quality across shots, sequences and episodes.
- Support the compositing team by handling assigned shot quotas while meeting episodic deadlines.
- Troubleshoot camera, FX, lighting and continuity issues that arise during the compositing stage, escalating stoppers to your supervisor.
- Maintain proper file organization, naming conventions and version control within our production tracking software (Flow Production Tracking) and server.
- Provide constructive feedback to fellow compositors when reviewing work alongside the supervisor.
- Document questions and workflow insights to contribute to our internal wiki best practices upon request.
- Adapt to different art styles and production requirements across our projects.
- Participate in pipeline and tool tests, providing feedback to help improve departmental efficiency.
- Collaborate with Production to anticipate bottlenecks and support schedule planning.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional studio experience as a Compositor in Toon Boom Harmony.
- Spanish bilingual or native speaker. Working proficiency in English. Portuguese and/or Catalan are a plus.
- Solid proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony compositing, with understanding of its node-based system.
- Strong technical and visual skills in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
- A solid understanding of camera moves, lighting, FX integration and basic cinematic language.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- A keen eye for detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with production tracking software like ShotGrid/Flow Production Tracking is a plus.
- Must be a freelancer based in the EU.
