Squeeze is looking for a character designer with experience in art direction in the Manga/Anime style. This is a short one-week contract starting immediately.

Your main responsibilities

• Artistically and visually interpret the client’s vision in collaboration with the VFX Supervisor;
• Develop artistic character concepts;
• Establish visuals that will guide the 3D team in developing character textures and lighting;
• Meet deadlines and deliver the expected quality;
• Ensure that character and environment models, textures/shading, surfacing, lighting/compositing, and 2D visual effects align with the established style; supervise/perform paintovers if needed;
• Work with the 3D team to ensure the client’s vision is achieved.

You have

• Demonstrated experience as a matte painter with a solid command of digital painting software such as Photoshop, as well as knowledge of 3D software for seamless integration;
• Previous experience in an animation studio or similar production;
• A strong ability to analyze and solve visual and technical problems creatively;
• A varied and impressive portfolio of matte painting work demonstrating a range of styles and technical skills;
• In-depth knowledge of the principles of composition, lighting, perspective and artistic design;
• Familiarity with Maya and Nuke software;
• Stylized portfolio for animation.
