CG Supervisor

Gradient Effects, Los Angeles, California is looking for a CG Supervisor to join our team

Responsibilities:

• Works closely with production to manage project schedules and Digital Artists assignments
• Works with production on budgeting, bidding, and scheduling of Digital Artists
• Helps define the creative and technical approach that is needed for the project
• Attends dailies and desk rounds to give feedback and approvals to Digital Artists
• Attends client meetings, screenings, and assist on production set as needed
• Works closely with Pipeline Engineer to design and implement tools used to facilitate workflow
• Ensure artists are following proper pipeline procedures and client delivery specs
• Train and mentor other Digital Artists as needed

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience working on Feature Film and Television VFX in a production environment
• Understanding CG pipeline - modeling, rendering, animation, texturing, lighting, shading, effects, rigging, and compositing
• Expert knowledge of Houdini, Maya, and Nuke
• Expert knowledge of Python scripting
• Knowledge of various production cameras and lenses
• Traditional artists background in photography, drawing, sculpting, painting, etc.
• Linux operating system experience is a must
• C/C++ experience is a plus
• Must have an excellent artistic eye
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Team player with strong communication and leadership skills
