3D Game Rigger

Evening Star is looking for a contract 3D Rigger to help us create our new 3D game! In this role, you will be responsible for bringing our games to vibrant life by creating and updating a variety of rigs for the 3D characters in our new title. Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience from rigging and skinning stylised characters and creatures to setting up blend shapes for facial expressions and lip sync with controls that are animator-friendly.


The contract role is for a minimum of 6 months with the possibility of an extension depending on project needs.


Remote working is in our DNA — since our inception in 2018, we have had employees across the U.S., England, and Australia. While we welcome people to join us in our Los Angeles office, this will never be a requirement.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external art teams to understand the project’s rigging and skinning needs
  • Rig and skin characters and objects while following processes and production standards Collaborate with character artists and animators to create and update character rigs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing rigs and controllers


Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of professional experience rigging 3D characters, including building animator-friendly control setups for commercial video game projects
  • Experience using Blender or Maya (or other 3D software for video game production) - recent hands-on Blender experience is required
  • Previous working experience with commercial game engines
  • Must be comfortable with GitHub, Perforce, or other comparable version control system
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
