Throughout her legal career, Ama Dwimoh has stood up for the rights and needs of children and victims. She has devised and implemented numerous outreach and education programs, led countless professional education programs, and leveraged resources to prosecute crimes against the innocent. In her most recent position as Executive Assistant District Attorney for King's County, New York, Ama Dwimoh created and led the Crimes Against Children Bureau, a specialized division dedicated to prosecuting sexual and physical abuse of children and child homicides.

    Ms. Dwimoh spearheaded the creation and operation of the Crimes Against Children Bureau, which under her direction handled dozens of high-profile cases over nearly 13 years. Ama Dwimoh’s many significant victories in the courtroom include obtaining convictions in the case of Nixzmary Brown, a seven-year-old girl killed by her mother and stepfather. The convictions led to major reform within the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and prompted new legislation protecting children.
