I participate in collaborative design work sessions and document decisions using site maps, user flows, page diagrams, wireframes, or other forms of documentation that best capture and convey agreed upon decisions. I assist with project discovery by analyzing user and stakeholder interviews and creating personas, and by conducting comparative audits. I also present documentation and recommend design decisions to clients and help set expectations for feedback.

I was the first to work as a UX intern at Viget Labs, which started a 6-week rolling internship program in the summer of 2010.

Through the course of my internship I owned an independent project concerned with redesigning the user experience for a regional non-profit. The project scope involved defining the functionality, content, and navigation for the website redesign.

User research methods included heuristic evaluation, competitor review, content audits, interviews, card sorting, questionnaires, usability testing, and analytics.

My primary role was as a strategic partner in workforce development for the transportation pipeline. Day to day, I was responsible for feature writing, content strategy, proposal writing, public speaking, direct marketing, social media marketing, and web analytics.

As a graduate student writer, I was the recipient of a Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship, awarded by the Federal Highway Administration for both 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.
