Vanity was written to address the user-hostile and generally unhelpful output that most existing documentation tools generate. Vanity came from the experience of working alongside users over nearly a decade of open-source software development.

Vanity aims to complete with Docblox to displace PHPDocumentor as the de facto standard for PHP software documentation.
