  • Executive at Australian Web Industry Association

    Have been instrumental in changing how the association fund raises or solicits sponsorship.

    Help with the Edge of the Web conference and the Australian web awards, the two major events of the association.

    Active in the port80 forums, happily assisting forum users.

    Eduka (see below) is where I work full time and is a sponsor of other help as needed at AWIA.

    • Left my last job, as I wanted to develop web software and they did not want to start a "division" in the business that did this.

      Have not looked back since.

      We have built an amazing web Content Management System which we license to other companies

      We have also built the software that runs most volunteering agencies in Australia. We have donated the Intellectual Property of this to Volunteering WA.

      We have some direct clients for whom we do everything web, strategy, support, design, development, love.

      Our catch cry "You sneeze we catch a cold".

    • Lead the technical team into planning software/network architecture and project managed software rollouts as well as sales assistance.

      Notable clients I worked for included Freehills, BNP, DJ Carmichael and various listed dot coms.

      Negotiated and set up some fairly large deals with the then once mighty dot coms!

      Left to start my own software development firm.

  • Exchange Specialist at Strategic Computer Solutions

    • First job at the bottom end of the ladder after moving to Australia.

      Rolled out MS Exchange and performed migration of GroupWise to Exchange - notable clients I worked for West AustralianTourism Commission, Iluka Resources, Water and Rivers Commission, Creditforce. West Australian Police Service .

      Finished off as Project Manager and left this job as I out grew my shoes fairly quickly and the directors did not want to offer an equity position.

  • IT Manager at Centre for African Family Studies / USAID

    • USAID funded role to look after CAFS. The original requirement was to implement a KPMG report on IT needs.

      Performed gaps analysis, looked at future trends and threw out the report and followed my own instinct.

      Goal was to use IT effectively for sustainability as IT funding was tied to a one off Rockefeller grant.

      Left this job reluctantly to migrate to Australia.

  • Computer Systems Engineering at University of Warwick

    Combined honours Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.

    Whilst at univ worked during holidays and took a year off in between as well. Worked with:

    JT Systems (owned by my uncle) in Southampton as a software dev
