Name
Robert (Rob) Hust
The world's first self described Notionographer.

Bio
I’ve traveled in the pursuit of business and adventure; I’ve suffered the grey purgatory of Heathrow International Airport; Supped at hallowed watering holes with collegues across Europe. I’ve stood upon the Karlův Most, in the heart of Prague at three in the morning and watched snow fall with gentle certainty upon its cobbles.

I’ve been a Consultant, Principal Inventor, VP Marketing, CIO., CTO, New Products Designer, Art Director, Graphic Designer, and (informally and usually under their breath) Bastard. I’ve never been fired, let go, or laid off.

Company
Altsys / Macromedia / Adobe
Position
Product Development Designer
From
1992 - 1994
Description
I started as a QA Designer on Team FreeHand (then an Altsys/Aldus property) and, after some intense schooling at the University of Texas at Dallas I rapidly earned the position of Lead Designer for Macromedia's (now Adobe's) new product development team in Texas. I worked with developers to solve U.I., workflow, and usability conundrums common to the design workspace, as well as translating various authoring and design concepts to an emerging internet media workspace. Ghosts of our work has been retained in Adobe's Fireworks and Dreamweaver.

Education

School
University of Texas at Dallas

Degree
Certificate of coarse completion, C++ Programming.

From
1993 - 1994

Description
To advance my career at Macromedia, it became crucial to aspire beyond being a digital designer with code-mining tendencies. To truly contribute as a product development and new products designer, I needed more depth. UT@D gave me the credentials, but as is typical, true understanding came in the trenches. At this point, web creation was in its infancy, and I just happened to be in the right place, at the proverbial right time to bend it to my advantage.

School
Art Institute of Seattle
Degree
AAA
From
1985 - 1987
Description
After high school, I ended up at The Art Institute of Seattle, just as it was shrugging off the mantel of the considerably more prestigious, Burnley School of Professional Art. At the time, they were still teaching solid advertising and graphic design skills, however, aside from one class in basic computer graphics (on a Mac Plus) digital design was a bare fraction of their curriculum. While I came out of AIS with solid skills, I had a hunger for more.
